Launceston Choral Society, in its current form, was founded in 1989 by its first musical director, Veronica Jones, and her accompanist, Wendy Langley.

We are fortunate to currently have the services of our musical director Jonathan Mann GRSM FTCL FRSA and our accompanist Liz Jones.

Launceston Choral Society normally performs 4 concerts a year in Central Methodist Church, Launceston.

In November and at Easter the choir typically performs one or two major choral works, ranging from baroque composers like Bach, Handel and Vivaldi to Haydn and Mozart from the classical period, to Rossini, Brahms, Elgar, Dvorak, Puccini and Fauré through to more modern composers such as Duruflé, Lloyd Webber, Rutter and Jenkins. The choir also puts on a Christmas concert of seasonal music and readings and a summer concert, typically of shorter pieces both sacred and secular.

We are delighted to have collaborated with other local choirs & have performed with Launceston Male Voice Choir, Bude Choral Society and 'Canzonetta', the award winning choir from St Joseph's School, Launceston.
